Overview 


The transportation sector has one additional, specific application field, which goes hand in hand with our decision-making solutions in procurement departments and in general prioritization exercises. Not only projects or investments are prioritized in the transportation sector, but different routes between transportation nodes also have to be compared. 

Italferr (the Italian State Railways Group) for example used D-Sight to identify the best route for a high-speed railway line between Palermo and Catania in Sicily. Different routes for railway lines can for example be compared taking financial, technical, environmental, and functional aspects into account. 

We have also been involved in a project for the belgian STIB (Brussels Intercommunal Transport Company) helping them to select the best technology to recover braking energy and insert it back into the network.
